Waiting for a Ring

Dear Stella,
I've been with my boyfriend for 6 years now. I love this man, and I want to spend the rest of my life with him however whenever I bring up "marriage" he gets upset and says why change anything if it is already working the way it is. Ive always dreamt of the white wedding with my dad walking me down the aisle surrounded by my family & friends etc. What can I do to get him to change his mind?
